Why Live in Riverbend

Riverbend is a suburban community in the Upper Valley area of El Paso. “It has older homes and larger lots — there are a few areas where people have horses,” says Cesar Dominguez, Realtor with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, who grew up in Juarez and has lived in El Paso since 2010. “It’s also really close to lots of things, like the country club, Sunland Park Casino and the mall.” Nearby Interstate 10 connects residents to more city amenities but passing traffic can be noisy. Tall pine trees and mature oleander bushes shade the grassy yards, giving the area an established feel. In the western portion, midcentury brick ranch-style houses and stucco-sided Spanish Colonial Revival-style homes often rest close together behind wide front lawns. The small La Puesta Del Sol subdivision, near West Sunset Road, has a few post-2000 custom estates. In the eastern half of Riverbend, houses are sometimes more spread apart. Lots can span an acre or more, providing space for pecan orchards, private pools or horses. Most listings fall between $200,000 and $700,000. Home prices in Riverbend tend to be lower than in the quieter, newer communities to the west, such as Sunset or The Willows.
