Why Live in Parkers Settlement

Parkers Settlement is a rural community situated in the expansive farmlands west of Evansville. Quiet country lanes lead to homes on large lots with a backdrop of vast fields of corn and soybeans. Located in Posey County, it’s primarily residential and agricultural except for a few small storefronts and a local ice cream shop. Residents will have to make the 11-mile trek to the city for their shopping and dining needs. “It’s a little community that’s basically two blocks long. It’s very rural. You’ve got some homes here, but it’s basically the country,” says Linda Price, an employee at Mark Price Insurance Company, one of the few businesses in Parkers Settlement. “I’ve been working out here about 40 years. I can say it’s a very low-key, laid-back place.” The community is made up of single-family homes and farm properties. Most of the single-family homes are clustered together, while farm properties are on the outskirts of Parkers Settlement. Ranch-style and Traditional homes are the most common designs here, with most dating to between 1940 and 1980. Its countryside location affords residents plenty of space and privacy with lot sizes that range from a quarter-acre to upward of
