Why Live in Flemington

Before Flemington became a borough of Raritan Township, it was a rural settlement full of Dutch and German farmers. The borough was named after resident, farmer and tavern owner Samuel Fleming, whose 18th-century home is now a local history museum. Today, Flemington is known for its historic buildings, access to popular retail spots and highly rated schools. “There’s the Flemington borough, and then the area around is Raritan Township, but it’s still called Flemington,” says Beverly Yoson, a Realtor at Coldwell Banker Realty with over 10 years of experience. “The borough is a diverse area, with lots of different cultures and restaurants. You have shopping, like the shops on Rayville Avenue. It’s surrounded by Hunterdon County, which is rural and picturesque.” Yoson says Flemington has a mix of condos, townhouses and single-family homes. Many of the townhouses and condos were built around the 1980s and often sell for $350,000 to $455,000. Most homes have Craftsman, Colonial Revival or ranch-style designs, and
