Modern Fort Worth neighborhood with an ancient name
Fossil Park may sound like an archaic antique of Fort Worth, but this established neighborhood is anything but prehistoric. Well-kept homes built in the 1980s through the 2000s and access to major roadways keep it connected to modern amenities, like shops, eateries and entertainment. Being so close to the action doesn't hinder those looking for privacy. "For being a populated suburb, there is lots of wide-open space and it's a little tucked away," Jon Baker, with NextHome Integrity Group, says.
Traditional two-stories and townhouses
Some Fossil Park residents get a clear view of the Texas sky from outside their front doors, with only a handful of trees along the streets, while others are in little nooks of heavily treed and manicured areas. Sidewalks offer space for one person to walk in either direction, while most roads include enough space for vehicles to pass each other in either direction. Houses range from about $280,000 for a craftsman or ranch-style home to around $460,000 for a traditional architecture two-story house. Two-bedroom townhouses typically go for between $280,000 and $300,000. Houses sell, on average, after 44 days on the market, similar to the national average of 43. Twice as many Fossil Park residents rent as own a home.

Hit the links at The Golf Club at Fossil Creek
Summerfields Park's nine acres of green space, sports fields, colorful playground, and proximity to the neighborhood make it a prime destination when it's time to get the kids off screens or go outside in the sun. Kids rush around the yellow, red and blue playground equipment or compete to see who can go higher on the swings while parents can watch from the green park benches. A few miles east, Silver Sage Park's open space and merry-go-round offer another area to get outside and enjoy the warm weather. Golfers swing by The Golf Club at Fossil Creek, which includes 18 holes on a par-72 championship course designed by golf legend Arnold Palmer. The course driving range and practice greens provide a place to warm up before hitting the links.

Cheer championship run at Fossil Ridge High School
Keller Independent School District, one of the five highest-rated districts in the county, serves Fossil Park students. Basswood Elementary School receives a B from Niche and teaches Pre-K through fifth grades. Basswood partners with the Friends for Life Program, encouraging students to make healthy decisions in and out of school. Fossil Hill Middle School may be their next step, which earns an A-minus and offers clubs like art, virtual reality and Pokémon clubs. Teenagers can attend Fossil Ridge High School, an A institution that Niche ranks as a top 20 public high school in the county. Fossil Ridge High won four straight UIL Cheer state titles through 2023.

Catch the game at Twin Peaks
Fossil Park's western border, along Interstate 35 W, attracts residents looking for a place close to home to get a meal or hang out. Takara Japanese Restaurant serves several sushi and ramen dishes with a traditional Eastern Asia aesthetic and some modern features. "They have this cool train-like feature that pulls dishes and orders around in a loop and stops at the orders," Baker says. Around Fossil Bluff Drive, locals find a row of various bars and grills. Twin Peaks sports bar offers American comfort food in a lodge-like setting, with log-shaped chair backs, wood tables and taxidermy animals on the wall. Getting groceries at nearby Kroger and Albertsons requires hopping in the car and heading east for a few miles on Western Center Boulevard, while major retailers like Target and Walmart are a few miles north on Interstate 35 W.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Fossil Bluff Drive
Fossil Bluff Drive is the place to be in March, not just for the bars and grills. Thousands attend the festive St. Patrick's Day block party, where visitors jam to live Celtic music and hop from place to place on the block. A few months later, everyone returns to celebrate Independence Day with several fireworks displays.
Easy access to Interstate 35 West
Major roadway Interstate 35 W borders Fossil Park to the west, leading to downtown Fort Worth, ten miles south. Fort Worth Meacham International Airport is about seven miles southwest, with the DFW International Airport about 21 miles east. Fossil Park residents rely primarily on their vehicles, with only a few public transit and bus options nearby. Those living west of Sandshell Boulevard are within walking distance of some nearby bars and grills.
With Interstate 820 bordering Fossil Park, you'll have direct access to DFW Metroplex.
Fossil Park offers well-kept 21st-century homes and easy access to major highways.
