Why Live in Loop
Loop, also known as The Loop, is a rural neighborhood located at the northern base of Loop Mountain. The area is characterized by its scenic hilly landscape within the Allegheny Mountains and variety of older homes. Home styles range from Colonial Revivals and split-level homes to recently built New Traditional houses. The neighborhood also includes Deer Meadow, a 55-plus community with single-story homes. The area's secluded atmosphere make it an ideal place for residents to enjoy quiet evenings on their back patios. The neighborhood borders Chimney Rock Park, a popular outdoor space with trails leading to scenic overlooks of historic Hollidaysburg. Loop is home to the highly rated Frankstown Elementary School. The Blair Regional YMCA Early Learning Center, located within the elementary school, provides after-school programs. For a meal out, people can visit the neighborhood's sole restaurant, Zmac’s Riverside Pub, which offers bar food and drinks along the Juniata River. For shopping, residents can head to Plank Road Commons shopping center about 5 miles north, which includes retailers like Walmart Supercenter and T.J. Maxx, as well as an AMC movie theatre. Groceries are at Warehouse Food Outlet, located 10 miles south. Loop is about 3 miles from Hollidaysburg, 10 miles from Altoona and 7 miles from Interstate 99.
