Why Live in Harrison
Harrison is a rapidly growing village on the north shore of Lake Winnebago, just east of Appleton. Harrison has transformed from farmland to small developments since its incorporation in 2013. The area is known for its larger lots and newer homes, with housing concentrated between Kimberly to the north and Lake Winnebago to the south. Residents are close to the High Cliff State Park and the public boat landing on Lake Winnebago, offering year-round recreational activities such as boating, ice-fishing and snowmobiling. The highly rated Kimberly Area School District serves most of Harrison, while the Appleton, Kaukauna and Hilbert districts also receive good marks. Harrison may not have a downtown area, but shops and restaurants are located along County CE and County KK. Appleton, about 6 miles away, has cultural attractions like the Fox River Performing Arts Center and the Fox River Mall, the largest in Wisconsin. However, residents should be aware of occasional flooding from the Fox River and noticeable paper mill smells. The village is well-connected, with Interstate 41 and U.S. Route 10 nearby, and Appleton International Airport 13 miles west.
