Why Live in Rainbow

Rainbow is a rural community that offers quiet country living in the northeast corner of Independence. The area offers many styles of homes on large lots, surrounded by undeveloped land that offers peace, quiet and privacy. Buyers can find everything from simple ranch-style homes to expansive, newer construction Tudor-inspired estates. Some large destination parks are several miles from home. William Landahl Mountain Bike Park has 20 miles of trails to explore. Little Blue Trace County Park combines miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, a softball field and nearly 2,000 acres of undeveloped natural land. The Osage Oaks Arena and Stables offers both horse riding lessons and boarding facilities. History buffs can explore the Fort Osage National Historic Landmark’s sprawling grounds. Grocery and big-box stores like Sun Fresh, Save a Lot, Price Chopper and Target are all about 10 miles away. Restaurants are close to these commercial areas, including The Happy Greek, which serves both Mediterranean cuisine and American fare. Highway 24 takes locals toward downtown Independence and Kansas City and their respective commuter and commercial hubs.
