Why Live in Rivermont
The Rivermont neighborhood in Johns Creek dates back to the 1970s. Yards are filled with looming pine trees and a 100-acre private park borders the Chattahoochee River. “In the late 70s, apparently, if you were rich, this is where you lived,” says Kathy Olsen, a Rivermont resident and president of the neighborhood association. The area is still popular – increasingly among young families these days, in part because of the large homes and lot sizes. Rivermont is also conveniently located in the middle of four large Georgia cities – Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Peachtree Corners and Roswell. Though the Rivermont Golf Club runs through the neighborhood, it operates separately from the neighborhood association. Zack Haley, community association manager for a management company that runs the Rivermont neighborhood association, says the city is working on road and sidewalk improvements. “They’re trying to make it more golf cart friendly,” he says. The neighborhood also has several pools and tennis courts. Rivermont has close to 950 homes sprinkled through five subdivisions.
