Modest early 20th-century homes fill the east end of Wilson-Hutton, while industrial businesses on the west side manufacture items from tiles to batteries. In between, North Middle School teaches hundreds of students. The small neighborhood in northern Joplin isn’t known for shops or restaurants, but only a 10-minute walk separates it from Main Street and West 7th Street, two of Joplin’s commercial corridors. Meanwhile, some houses in the neighborhood need significant renovations before they’re livable. Houses in the neighborhood rarely change hands.
