Markland Heights Homes for Sale

One of Kokomo's oldest neighborhoods, Markland Heights retains an old-school charm just a few blocks from the center of town. It features a variety of historical properties, primarily one-story Craftsman homes under 1,000 square feet, along with a selection of shotguns, bungalows, ranch-style homes, and two-story houses. The neighborhood is experiencing a resurgence, due in large part to Kokomo's recent population boom. Markland Heights is located near the Chrysler and GM factories, two of the largest employers in town, as well as the upcoming Stellantis-Samsung battery factories. Public transit is accessible via the Kokomo City Trolley Blue Line, which runs downtown on weekdays. The neighborhood has several shopping and dining options, including Markland Mall, Kokomo Town Center, and Boulevard Crossing, with stores like Kohl’s, Old Navy and T.J. Maxx. For groceries, residents have a nearby Meijer and Walmart Supercenter. Cutler Park, located in the northern part of the neighborhood, features a playground, basketball and tennis courts, and youth baseball fields. Markland Heights is part of the Kokomo-Center Township School Corporation, with students attending Elwood Haynes Elementary and Maple Crest Middle School. It's about a mile southeast of Kokomo Municipal Stadium, which is home to the Kokomo Jackrabbits baseball team during warmer months and an ice-skating rink in winter.
