Lake Lakengren is a private community about 30 miles from Dayton, built around a 230-acre lake whose name roughly translates to "lake of the emerald green hills." Founded in 1969, the community has mostly ranch-style homes and New Traditional properties, with some large contemporary builds. Waterfront houses with personal boat launches are available but rarely come on the market. Golf carts are a common mode of transportation. Worley's Country Store stocks fresh produce and flowers for everyday needs, but state Route 732 also connects the community to Eaton, about 6 miles away, where residents find big-box stores, grocery stores and restaurants.
