Parker Days Festival represents almost 50 years of tradition in the town. Each summer, this festival features live music, street performers and food demonstrations alongside plenty of rides. Over 200 artists and vendors and more than 30 restaurants are also in attendance to highlight local businesses and charm. Beyond the neighborhood boundaries, Parker’s Challenger Park is home to the Parker Recreation Center and two playgrounds. “The Parker Recreation Center has a lot of youth sports and an indoor pool and pickleball courts,” Jenson explains. “But there’s lots of great opportunities for adults as well. Lots of co-ed sports.” Rueter-Hess Reservoir encourages people to enjoy the Colorado weather with paddleboarding, fishing, and hiking. Students can attend Pine Grove Elementary School for kindergarten through sixth grade. Sierra Middle School houses grades seven through eight. Niche awards both schools a B-plus. At Chaparral High School, students can become peer tutors through their chapter of the National Honors Society. The school also offers several sports, from ice hockey to rugby. There is a large mountain biking community in Parker and the surrounding neighborhoods, with events like Bike to Work Day encouraging people to commute via bike. “A lot of bikers use the Cherry Creek Trail,” Jenson says. “And you can bike it all the way down to downtown Denver.” The P and 483 buses stop along Lincoln Avenue, connecting Sierra Ridge to Parker and Denver. Light rail stations are also a short drive away for another commuter option. Denver is 22 miles from Sierra Ridge, and the nearest hospital is AdventHealth Parker just 5 miles from the community.
