1980s homes with attractive price points

Most of the neighborhood’s ranch-style and split-level homes were built between the late 1970s and the early 2000s. Fenced-in back yards and attached multi-car garages are common, and front lots are dotted with mature trees. With a median home price of around $415,000, houses here are relatively affordable for Adams County, which has a median price of $525,000. “It’s a good entry-level price point for the Denver metro area, so there’s a steady flow of people buying and renting,” says Jason Sirois, a broker associate with Compass. Houses start in the upper $200,000s and reach the low $500,000s, with prices increasing alongside square footage and lot size. “You’re right at the edge of Arapahoe County, but it's technically considered an unincorporated part of Adams County,” says Jessica Zeleniak, managing broker with J to Z Realty. “And that’s great because it keeps the property taxes pretty low.”

Interstate 70 borders the neighborhood to the north and Interstate 25 is just a short drive west, providing access to all corners of the Denver area. “Being that close to I-70, you also have easy access to the airport and can go west to get out to the mountains very easily,” Sirois says. The Regional Transportation District operates bus routes throughout the area, with stops along East 19th Avenue, Tower Road, East Buchanan Place and East Batavia Drive. “The A Line on the light rail runs near the neighborhood and connects downtown to the airport,” Zeleniak says. There are a number of major employment hubs within reach:

  • Buckley Space Force Base is around 7 miles south via Colfax Avenue and Airport Boulevard.
  • The Denver Tech Center is roughly 15 miles southwest via Interstate 225.
  • Denver’s Central Business District is a 14-mile drive west on Colfax.
  • A handful of manufacturing plants and distribution centers lie just north of the neighborhood, with companies like Benjamin Moore, Amazon and Wayfair.
