The Route 59 Metra station is located just north of Meridian Lake, offering four separate commuter parking lots and an hour's ride to Chicago. “Most people take the Metra, and it’s an 8-minute drive to the station, which is a big deal,” Booth explains. “The Naperville-Aurora area is huge and spread out. To have a Metra station so close is a real advantage.” Those preferring to make the drive can head 35 miles east to Downtown Chicago on Interstate 290 and I-88. Chicago Midway International Airport is about 33 miles in the same direction on I-55. Naperville is about 4 miles east, where the closest emergency room is at Endeavor Health Edward Hospital. Downtown Aurora is 6 miles west, providing the last Metra stop on the BNSF line to Union Station. Local travel might mean catching a bus on New York Street or along Route 59, as traffic around the mall might be congested.

Ideal for walkers and joggers is Wildflower Park, where a wide, paved path outlines Wildflower Lake at the center. Just south of the mall, Springbrook Prairie is divided between a golf course and dog park to the west and an open prairie to the east. Trails wrap around the park’s perimeter, intertwined with Spring Brook Creek.
