Dickeyville’s history as a mill town is celebrated with regular events

Established in 1772, the historic mill town of Dickeyville is a charming community tucked away behind Gwynn Falls/Leakin Park in West Baltimore. Contoured by the local Gwynn Falls River—the powerhouse of this community’s former paper and textile mills—today, Dickeyville’s small dam and open green spaces serve as a gathering place for annual celebrations, like the Dickeyville Bonfire, an autumnal tradition. Other annual events, like the Fourth of July Parade and barbeque, a pancake breakfast, Halloween trick or treating, and Village clean ups, are sponsored by the Dickeyville Community Association and The Dickeyville Garden Club.
