Living large in Beaumont, Texas
In 2023, the U.S. News and World Report ranked Beaumont sixth on its list of most affordable places to live in the US and sixth on its list of best places to live in Texas. Both rankings considered factors like quality of life, cost of living, desirability and job opportunities. The neighborhood is home to some of the biggest houses in Beaumont; it’s where buyers look when they want to buy or build a custom estate. “Willow Creek was designed as a planned neighborhood with a golf course running through it,” says Realtor Karisa Tinsley, a lifelong resident of Southeast Texas who’s sold real estate in Beaumont for 16 years and was named Realtor of the Year in 2016 by the Beaumont Board of Realtors. “Many homes have a direct view of the golf course in their backyard, and each street is named after a well-known golf course.”
Amidst elegant estates and lush golf courses, Willow Creek offers upscale living.
Home to some of the largest and most elegant estates in Beaumont, Willow Creek has mostly newer homes built in a contemporary traditional fashion, with some modern farmhouses and colonial-inspired builds mixed in. People move here to buy or build a custom-designed mansion, and many have views of the neighborhood’s Brentwood Entertainment Complex, a 140-acre golf course. “Homes in Willow Creek are anywhere from 2,000 square feet on a standard lot size to homes over 7,000 square feet on over an acre,” Tinsley says. The homes feature a variety of architectural features like cross-gabled roofs, barn-style wood shutters and large front porches. Many belong to gated communities, though homes in non-HOA communities are also available. The median price for a single-family home here is about $400,000, starting around $250,000 for a ranch-style home and getting as high as $750,000 for a custom-built five-bedroom home.
