Blacklick Estates is a cozy suburb about 10 miles from downtown Columbus. One of the main reasons people move here is its location; nearby highways make it easy to drive to tech hubs and shopping centers. Still, the local restaurants and parks mean you don't have to go into the city for everything. Places like Groveport host events that bring a small-town charm to the area.

Most of the housing market was built in the mid-20th century, including split-level and ranch-style homes with brick and vinyl exteriors. There are also some New Traditional styles that were built as recently as the 2020s. Move-in ready homes range from the mid-$100,000s to the low $400,000s, and you can find an investment property for less than $100,000. “It’s a good place for starter homes,” says Realtor Don Shaffer with Howard Hanna. “It’s got a pretty good range of price levels.”

Tech jobs in New Albany are 15 miles away
According to Shaffer, there are two major reasons to move to Blacklick Estates. “People come here for the affordability and the good jobs all around it,” he says. The Columbus Metro area is a tech hub, and industrial and corporate offices for Amazon, Intel and Meta are about 15 miles (30 minutes) away in New Albany. Cars are the easiest way to get around, and highways like state Route 317 and Interstate 270 are nearby. You can reach in about 10 miles (20 minutes). Public transportation is available through Central Ohio Transit Authority buses.
Students can attend Groveport public schools
Blacklick Estates is part of the Groveport Madison Local School District. At Groveport Madison High School, students can enroll in career pathways to gain hands-on experience in fields like construction and interactive media. Nearby private education options include Harvest Preparatory School, which has kindergarten through 12th grade.
Groveport Madison Middle School is in the community.
Groveport Elementary School near Blacklick Estates serves the children in grades preschool through fifth grade.

There are a handful of local restaurants in Blacklick Estates, with more choices in Groveport and Reynoldsburg. Options include:

Hiking trails at Nafzger Park and Three Creeks Metro Park
