Most of its large custom homes on spacious lots cost between $400,000 and $850,000, and larger mansions can cost north of $1 million. "Covington Grove is one of the few gated areas in town; there's not much under $500,000," says Parrott. "Shawnee is just down the road but is a lot less expensive." The Shawnee Estates community, the area's namesake, is on the neighborhood's north end. It's a large development of 1960s ranch-style homes, much like the rest of the area, with lots of green space and tree cover. These homes range from $200,000 to $350,000.Spacious community and county parks
H.P. Thomas Park is a central recreation space in the area. This 17-acre lawn offers ample open space with different playgrounds and picnic areas. Dogs are allowed in the Bark Park on the south end.
