Sheffield Park offers suburban and outdoor charm near Uptown Charlotte
Sheffield Park is a suburban neighborhood that offers buyers a wealth of outdoor recreation near Independence Boulevard and Uptown Charlotte. The community features mostly single-family homes and townhomes along oak tree-lined streets. While the area has multiple recreational spaces, it is also close to multiple shopping and dining corridors, transit arteries and entertainment venues such as the Bojangles Coliseum.
Uptown Charlotte is visible from Sheffield Park, and sits just a few miles away.
Ranch-style homes make up a large percentage of the housing stock in Sheffield Park.

Lower-cost single-family homes are available
Single-family home designs include ranch styles, bungalows and split-levels. Townhomes are also available. “The average age of these homes is probably 50 years old,” says Andy Griesinger, a Realtor with eXp Realty LLC Ballantyne, who sells in the area.
Townhomes are typically priced between $150,000 and $250,000. Single-family homes range from $250,000 to $650,000. Griesinger says Sheffield Park is more affordable than nearby communities such as Plaza Midwood and Commonwealth Park. Griesinger adds that most dwellings are not overseen by homeowners’ associations. However, townhomes can be HOA-controlled.
“[Sheffield Park has] a lot more young professionals and a lot of first-time buyers,” says Griesinger. “The homes are 1,400 to 2,000 square feet.” Properties are typically on winding streets with smaller lots and oak trees accenting lawns. Multifamily units are on the edges of Sheffield Park, particularly on Albemarle Road, Central Avenue and Sharon Amity Road.

Public elementary and middle schools are in the area
Public school students can attend Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The district allows for school choice through a lottery system, provided space is available. Winterfield Elementary and Eastway Middle are both located within Sheffield Park.
Winterfield Elementary School is a public accredited, PreK-5 school in Sheffield Park.
Local students in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood attend Eastway Middle School.

Dining and shopping corridors surround the neighborhood
“Living in this neighborhood puts you in a prime location to be very close to some of Charlotte’s most popular restaurants, bars and unique shopping, as well as entertainment,” says Linsday Patton, an agent with Keller Williams. A nature preserve and nearby park anchor local recreation
The neighborhood’s namesake park has a playground and courts. The 77-acre Evergreen nature preserve is in the center of the locale and includes a walking trail. Kilbourne Park is close by and offers a softball diamond, multipurpose field and a skate park. The Bojangles Coliseum, located along Independence Avenue, hosts concerts and other events.
