Master-planned community with larger lots and private parks
Located 5 miles north of downtown, The Pointe is a master-planned community that differs from other subdivisions for its private amenities and larger lots. Residents endure the quiet suburban lifestyle with easy access to recreation as the subdivision has private-owned parks and exclusive walking trails. “The Pointe is popular due to the newer homes built in the early 2000s,” says Steve Prescott, broker/owner at RE/MAX Capitol Properties. “There’s a diverse mix of people. It has twin homes that attract those who are retired. The single-family homes that are larger fill with families.” The neighborhood is located close to major roadways where residents can easily commute for work or fulfill shopping and dining needs. “It’s got great access to the major roads. Powderhouse is to the east, and Four Mile Road is to the north. Those are both popular, so getting in and out is easy,” he adds.
Houses in The Pointe vary from craftsman ranches and two-story homes on lots up to a half-acre.

Craftsman ranches and two-stories from multiple developers
The Pointe started its development in the early 2000s. The community had numerous builders during its formation, and these changes allowed for the homes and lot sizes to vary compared to other subdivisions. “When we had the recession, and the original builder started offering lots to other builders, that’s when they built a lot of two-stories and ranch styles,” Prescott says. “The lot sizes range from 6,000 square feet and a half acre. We don’t find that anymore in subdivisions. It provides some diversity in construction and style.” The Pointe is known for its friendly and community-forward ambiance. The neighborhood’s design encourages mingling with neighbors and daily activity with its walking paths. “It’s a pretty community-driven neighborhood,” Prescott says. “They do community garage sales and block party events throughout the year.” HOA fees cover the neighborhood’s upkeep and snow removal. Craftsman ranchers have similar perks, such as two-car garages and front lawns. Craftsman two-story homes and single-story townhomes vary between two-to-three-car garages. Single-family homes are priced from $450,000 for a two-bedroom and $770,000 for a two-story. Townhomes range from $385,000 to $550,000. “It’s a very family-oriented subdivision.”
