King's Meadow
Ranch-style homes, New Traditional designs and more
The King's Meadow community is home to the Stoneridge Estates subdivision, which was built in the 1990s and early 2000s. These homes typically sit on half-acre lots and reflect Colonial Revival, contemporary and New Traditional designs, and typically cost between $450,000 and $650,000. There's also the Bellwood subdivision, where homes feature smaller plots (about a quarter of an acre) and offer contemporary and New Traditional designs built after 2010. Depending on their size, prices can range from nearly $400,000 to $550,000. Buyers should note that HOA fees are applicable in both the Bellwood and Stoneridge Estates subdivisions. For non-subdivision living, some of the homes in other pockets of King's Meadow dates back to the 1970s, reflecting modest brick ranch-styles that cost between $250,000 and $350,000. Buyers should also be aware that homes near Perche Creek receive higher-than-average Flood Factor Scores.Columbia Public Schools with B-plus ratings or higher
Students can attend Columbia Public Schools, including Paxton Keeley Elementary, which receives a B-plus rating from Niche. The school's PTA hosts several events throughout the year, including the annual fall Comet Carnival, which has everything from bowling to an inflatable obstacle course. From there, students can head to the B-plus-rated Smithton Middle, which features both a kindness club and a maker's Club. Then it's on to the A-minus-rated David H. Hickman High Schoool, which offers graphic design and marketing electives. The school also features an AVID, or Advancement Via Individual Determination program, which boasts both team-building activities and service-learning opportunities.Strawn Road Park, Cosmo Park and more
At Strawn Road Park, hikers head out along wooded creekside paths, while others challenge their friends to disc-golf matches at the Harmony Bends Championship Disc Golf Course. The course features everything from elevation challenges to water hazards. In 2022, Innova Disc Golf ranked Harmony Bends as one of the nation's six must-play disc golf courses. Nearby, the 533-acre Cosmo Park amenities include tennis courts, soccer fields, the city's largest playground and the 18-hole L. A. Nickell Golf Course. The park hosts several recreational events throughout the year, including the Show-Me State Games in the summer, which caters to hobbyist sports players of all ages.
