A Park District community with close to Midtown amenities

Picture afternoons on the green, strolls under the leafy canopies at Lakebottom Park and coming home to a magazine-worthy historic home--that's Garrard Woods. Located in Midtown, this historic neighborhood is part of Columbus's distinctive Park District communities. “This is a community where people know each other by name; where folks have kept roots for a long time,” says Realtor Renee Coleman with Keller Williams Realty. Coleman has worked in the area for over 12 years. “There are a ton of local businesses nearby where people are regulars, people are out on walks saying hi to each other. It just feels like folks are really involved with their community and their homes here.” Garrard Woods is also close to Columbus State University, making it an ideal location for staff and faculty looking to live close by. The community also has one of the state's highest-rated schools: Columbus High School. It's a popular area for families, providing suburban tranquility while close to other major employers like Aflac and Uptown's dining and entertainment.

Come home to Craftsman bungalows and Colonial Revival estates

Lined with a mix of oak, magnolia and pine trees, Garrard Woods has an air of shady respite that makes home a place to relax. Builders constructed most homes throughout the 20th century and tended to build larger as they went north. There's a mix of midcentury Craftsman-style and ranch-style homes costing between $350,000 and $600,000, while stately Colonial Revival and Neoclassical-inspired homes and estates cost between $600,000 and $900,000. These estates tend to have large yards with backyard pools perfect for cooling down in the Georgia heat. There are also apartment communities close to the golf course, like Greystone at Country Club and Springdale Condos.
