Cottonwood Heights has newer homes and scenic views
Cottonwood Heights draws people in with a higher-end housing market where the median sale price sits around $1.2 million and most homes are newer single-family builds. The biggest draw, though, is the city’s location in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, near the Big Cottonwood Canyon. You’re close to parks, highly rated schools and routes to ski resorts in the mountains. Add in a roughly 20-minute drive to downtown Salt Lake City, local restaurants and shopping along Park Centre Drive, and it’s easy to see why residents stick around.

Cottonwood Heights has easy ways to get outside
Cottonwood Heights sits along the Wasatch Mountains with direct access to Big Cottonwood Canyon. “You’re pretty much at the base of the canyon,” local Realtor Melissa Ballman with Real Broker, LLC, says. “For most people, when they say they want to live in Cottonwood, it’s because they’re big skiers.” Big Cottonwood Canyon Road cuts through the valley and leads about 15 miles to ski resorts in Brighton and Alta. In the summer, trails leading into the canyon open for hiking and running. Closer to home, you can stop by Butler Park to visit the tennis courts, skatepark or recreation center. Crestwood Park is known for its in-ground pool and shaded walking trail.
