To get to downtown Fort Myers, many travel north on Winkler and merge onto McGregor Boulevard, which feeds directly into the city center. Residents can also dock at Freedom Boat Club or fly out of Southwest Florida International Airport, which sits 13 miles east. "I’d say it’s close proximity to everything,” Lipsher says. "It’s 20 minutes to downtown Fort Myers, 20 minutes to the beach and 20 minutes to the airport."

Residents are wary during hurricane season
Stationed on Florida's Gulf Coast, Cypress Lake is routinely threatened by major storms during hurricane season.
