Housing styles and what they cost in Rylie
Buyers find single-family homes dating to the 1950s, plus some new construction in subdivisions like Middlefield Village. Traditional and ranch-style homes are common, some on acreage. “There are families that have been here for years,” says David Carranza, a local who’s served as the Kleberg Neighborhood Association president for four years. “There are a lot of ranches and cows in this area, and once in a while, they tend to get out. You’ll have people horseback riding on the streets themselves.” Older homes range between the lower $100,000s and upper $200,000s, while newer homes range from the upper $200,000s to the upper $600,000s.

Interstate 20 also cuts through town and leads about 15 miles west to the 24-hour Select Specialty Hospital and over 40 miles west toward Fort Worth . Buckner Station is directly north of the neighborhood and offers public transportation downtown via the Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s green line. Once they’re downtown, passengers can take one of the bus routes to nearby restaurants, shopping centers and Dallas Love Field airport. “You have the best of both worlds,” Carranza says. “It’s like being in the country, but you’re close enough to downtown to experience the city life.”
