Northwest Park
Midcentury ranches and cottages meet 1990s Spanish Revivals
With only 11 properties sold in the last year and less than that on the market now, there isn’t a ton of turnover in Northwest Park. Despite limited sales data, prices roughly range between the mid $300,000s and mid $600,000s. The neighborhood’s ranch-style houses and cottages were built in the 1960s and ‘70s, while its smattering of Spanish Revivals cropped up in the ‘90s. On the low end of the price range are fixer-uppers, while newly renovated homes comprise the high end. Hurricane season on the Atlantic coast ranges from early April to late November. While many homes in Northwest Park are at minimal risk for flood damage, flood insurance may be required for properties on the lake or canal.Deerfield Beach’s K-12 pathway and programs at Deerfield Beach High
Broward County Public Schools serves Deerfield Beach. Deerfield Beach Elementary and Deerfield Beach Middle are graded C-plus on Niche, while Deerfield Beach High earns an A. The high school features a communications/broadcast arts magnet program for students interested in media and an urban teaching program for those curious about a future in education.Three waterfront parks are within walking distance
Johnie Keithen Park is a neighborhood hangout with a shaded playground, fitness equipment and a quiet dock on the Hillsboro Canal where local anglers fish. Across the water, or about 2 miles up Dixie Highway, Hillsboro El Rio Park South is another green space on the canal. It has a kayak launch and other recreational amenities, including pickleball and tennis courts. Pioneer Park has a public boat ramp and more sports facilities nearby.Shopping and dining on Hillsboro Boulevard and at Hillsboro Square
Hillsboro Boulevard has a handful of convenient shops and fast-food chains on the neighborhood’s south side, including Ideal Food Basket, the closest grocery store. Pop’s Fish Market is on the boulevard, too, and is popular for seafood lunches and a selection of fresh fish. About 2 miles down the road, Hillsboro Square has even more options for day-to-day shopping and dining, from Publix to Starbucks to the family-owned Olympia Flame Diner, a Greek-American restaurant with all-day breakfast. Northwest Park is also less than a 5-mile drive from the ritzy retail, restaurants and entertainment in Downtown Boca Raton. In close proximity to public transit, highways and two hospitals
Deerfield Beach’s Tri-Rail station is about a mile west on Hillsboro Boulevard, past the road’s exit onto Interstate 95. Hillsboro Boulevard also has Broward County Transit bus stops and intersects Dixie Highway on the neighborhood’s east side. The closest hospitals, Broward Health North and Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital, are within a 5-mile drive, and the nearest airport, Fort Lauderdale International Airport, is less than 25 miles away.
