Park Haven
Individual communities within the neighborhood
The manufactured home community is between FAU Research Park Boulevard and Interstate 95. Highland Village has homes as low as $100,000 and up to $400,000. Residents can enjoy a community swimming pool, clubhouse and on-site laundry. There are also condos that start at $200,000, but the most prevalent are single-family homes listing from $300,000 to $500,000 that were built in the 1950s and ‘60s. Most of the homes feature carports or a driveway with no garage. Modestly built ranch-style and Florida bungalows have between 1,000 and 1,500 square feet of living space. “Properties in Park Haven sell quickly because most homes are priced under a half million dollars. They’re built well and they’re the right size for families,” says Shane Frankovic, a former brokerage owner and now a real estate advisor to One Sotheby’s International Realty, who has been selling real estate in South Florida for over a decade. “There are a lot of first-time homebuyers in Park Haven that are looking for, and finding, great value.” While not related to home sales, Highland Pines is a camping area in Park Haven that is strictly for RVs. There are over 400 spaces and is open year-round. There are some people that live there long-term during the winter months. There are water and sewer connections and an onsite pool.Great walkability
It’s easy to find a sidewalk along the neighborhood streets with the occasional palm tree providing shade. Some of those sidewalks lead to Dixie Highway, which is where there are plenty of stops to catch a northbound or southbound Broward County Transit bus line. It’s a three-mile trip to the south to reach the Pompano Beach Tri-Rail train station. Park Haven is situated neatly between the Pompano Beach station and the Deerfield Beach train station, three miles to the north. The Tri-Rail name refers to the three counties it serves: Broward, West Palm and Miami-Dade. The nearest hospital is Broward Health North, which is 2 miles to the south.Plenty of shopping options
For shopping necessities, the Park Haven neighborhood has many options, including Target, Publix, Walmart Supercenter and the smaller Neighborhood Market. All are within a couple of miles to the east or west. Bravo Supermarket is at 48th Street and Dixie Highway is locally owned and has been serving the South Florida area for over 30 years. North on Dixie Highway is Au-Bon-Gout, an authentic Haitian restaurant. One of its specialties is the griot, pieces of pork shoulder that are marinated, cooked and fried. Fresh Salads Shop specializes in salads and smoothies, but also have a wide variety of sandwiches from veggie options to burgers.School proximity
Two schools in the Broward County Public School District that students in Park Haven can attend include Park Ridge Elementary School, which has a gardening club and a debate club. The school is rated a C on Niche. Deerfield Beach Middle School is a short drive to the northeast and is rated a C-plus. Deerfield Beach High School has a 23-to-1 student-teacher ratio and a B-minus grade on Niche. Highland Christian Academy is a private prekindergarten through 12th-grade school with a B overall Niche grade.Deerfield Beach events
Deerfield Beach has a few events throughout the year that are popular among locals. The Ocean Brews & Blues festival takes place on the oceanfront in May. There are over 100 craft beers to sample, and blues music performers provide entertainment. Kids can participate in the Jr. Anglers Day in September at the International Fishing Pier. The event featured fishing clinics as well as arts and crafts. In February, the Deerfield Beach Pioneer Days Celebration takes place at the main beach parking lot on 21st Avenue. The two-day festival has live entertainment, kids activities and a fireworks display to end the festivities.
