Individual communities within the neighborhood
The manufactured home community is between FAU Research Park Boulevard and Interstate 95. Highland Village has homes as low as $100,000 and up to $400,000. Residents can enjoy a community swimming pool, clubhouse and on-site laundry. There are also condos that start at $200,000, but the most prevalent are single-family homes listing from $300,000 to $500,000 that were built in the 1950s and ‘60s. Most of the homes feature carports or a driveway with no garage. Modestly built ranch-style and Florida bungalows have between 1,000 and 1,500 square feet of living space. “Properties in Park Haven sell quickly because most homes are priced under a half million dollars. They’re built well and they’re the right size for families,” says Shane Frankovic, a former brokerage owner and now a real estate advisor to One Sotheby’s International Realty, who has been selling real estate in South Florida for over a decade. “There are a lot of first-time homebuyers in Park Haven that are looking for, and finding, great value.” While not related to home sales, Highland Pines is a camping area in Park Haven that is strictly for RVs. There are over 400 spaces and is open year-round. There are some people that live there long-term during the winter months. There are water and sewer connections and an onsite pool.

Great walkability
It’s easy to find a sidewalk along the neighborhood streets with the occasional palm tree providing shade. Some of those sidewalks lead to Dixie Highway, which is where there are plenty of stops to catch a northbound or southbound Broward County Transit bus line. It’s a three-mile trip to the south to reach the Pompano Beach Tri-Rail train station. Park Haven is situated neatly between the Pompano Beach station and the Deerfield Beach train station, three miles to the north. The Tri-Rail name refers to the three counties it serves: Broward, West Palm and Miami-Dade. The nearest hospital is Broward Health North, which is 2 miles to the south.
