Just over a mile from the Detroit River, the Riverbend neighborhood is a revitalizing area with just over 1000 homes. Unique shops, soul food and converted churches
There’s easy access to shopping and dining in Riverbend. Quick service and fast casual restaurants rest close to the freeway, and Yellow Light is a local favorite for house-roasted coffee and handmade donuts. Mack-Alter Square contains an Aldi and Family Dollar, while nearby Atwater Brewery continues Michigan’s tradition of great beer-making with Atwater at the Park, a traditional German beer hall in a former church. Detroit Soul is known for large portions and down-home cuisine. Riverbend has a pocket park covering 2.6 acres on Goethe Street. The Algonquin-Goethe Park contains an open area that doubles as a soccer field, a basketball court and a playground.
