It is bordered by a mile-long trail loop where residents often walk their dogs. It shares space with Crime Victims Memorial Park, which has benches, a garden pavilion and a tribute to lives lost in violent crimes, including fallen police officers. Nearby E.L. Highway access without bumper-to-bumper traffic
Interstate 10 is the community’s norther border and can take drivers into Downtown El Paso, just over 10 miles west. Pitterman says there can be some slowdowns on neighborhood streets when schools let out, but it quickly gets cleared. “I used to live in Houston,” Pitterman says. “The traffic here is nothing like it is there.” El Paso International Airport is close to 5 miles away. Sun Metro operates a public bus service in the area. Several stops sit along North Yarbrough Drive. Summers can get above 105 degrees, but it is generally a dry heat, Pitterman says. Dust storms can also occur in the spring.
