HOA-free old- and new-construction subdivisions for less than $800,000
West Green was developed between the 1970s and early 2000s with classic Modern Transitional houses and stucco-sided Spanish eclectic homes. These older properties range from just under $200,000 to the mid-$400,000s. New construction in developing HOA-free subdivisions like Green Acres Estates offers custom-built contemporary homes, many influenced by classic styles, such as Craftsman and Spanish Revival. Prices of these new homes range from the low $400,000s to the mid $700,000s. Front yards throughout the community offer a blend of hardscaping and landscaping. Both tend to feature mature palm trees and other plants that can thrive in the dry, hot, high-desert climate.
West Green is split between two school districts
While most of West Green falls within the lines of Canutillo Independent School District, a section is served by El Paso Independent School District. Both districts earn an overall B-plus from Niche and partner with El Paso Community College to offer high school dual enrollment programs. Students in Canutillo-zoned sections can attend Jose H. Damian Elementary School, graded B-minus; Canutillo Middle School STEAM Academy, also graded B-minus; and Canutillo High School, graded B. On the El Paso-zoned side, students can start school at Don Haskins PK-8 School, graded B-minus, before going on to Franklin High School, graded A-minus.

Little River Park and West Green Park have similar amenities, though the latter has the sporty bonus of a basketball court. The great outdoors is around a 15-minute drive away at the almost 27,000-acre Franklin Mountains State Park. It has over 100 miles of trails that are popular among local hikers, bikers, geocachers and birders. The park also has rock-climbing and camping areas.
