Westway is a small community north of El Paso
Located south of the New Mexico border on Interstate 10, the El Paso neighborhood of Westway gives homebuyers a lower-cost option for housing while having quick access to job opportunities. Streets in this community of over 3,000 are on a grid pattern, with primarily single-family properties. Most have grass lawns with oak and mesquite trees in the front and small backyards. Multiple industrial plants and quarries surround Westaway, while the highway gives residents access to job centers. “Westway is a very small neighborhood,” says Denise Lee, Realtor with Home Pros Real Estate Group. “It does have an elementary school, which is very convenient for the people that live there, and for a lot of kids, it's within walking distance.”

Older and newer single-family homes and no HOA
Single-family, ranch-style homes can range from $130,000 to $250,000. Two-story Spanish Revivals and New Traditionals can cost between $250,000 and $310,000. Plots of land are available throughout the area. Properties tend to stay on the market for about 133 days, longer than the national average of 47. The community does not have a homeowners association. Lee says families have been primarily attracted to Westway and commuters to El Paso or Las Cruces, New Mexico. The area does feature newer homes, constructed as recently as 2023. “The nice thing is, you are probably going to find homes under the $200,000 price point,” says Lee.
A steel plant and other manufacturers are east of the locality, along with a freight train spur and a small quarry to the north. However, Lee says local industry or rail noise does not affect residents.
