Wildblue offers a lakefront lifestyle with a convenient location

Centered on several small lakes and surrounded by open grasslands, Wildblue is a master-planned community with resort-style amenities that has become highly sought after since its opening in 2019. “What’s unique about the community is that it’s really wide open,” says Dawn Bray, a Wildblue resident and local real estate agent at Premiere Plus Realty. “It’s not like your typical neighborhood where your backyard faces another backyard. Most homes back up to the waterfront or to nature preserves.” Homes are divided into two subdivisions, Wildblue and Vista Wildblue, with separate entrances, though all residents can access the larger lakes for boating, fishing and other sports like waterskiing. In addition to waterfront recreation and an extensive community center, Wildblue offers convenient proximity to large shopping centers, Interstate 75 and the Southwest Florida International Airport.

Recently built homes at a range of price points

Development in Wildblue largely began in 2019, and construction has since been completed, finishing with about 1,100 homes surrounding three main lakes. Homes feature New Traditional architecture with cross-gabled roofs, vinyl siding and large attached garages. Additionally, many homes have either private docks on the waterfront or screened-in backyard pools with views of surrounding nature preserves. Most homes range from $600,000 to $1.5 million, while larger builds with around 3,000 square feet or more can range from $1 million to $2.6 million. The central peninsula in the middle of Wildblue Lake, locally known as Blue Eye Loop, features the community’s largest properties, often spanning over half an acre of land. These estate-sized homes usually range from $4 million to $5.5 million. The neighborhood receives a CAP Index Crime Score of 1 out of 10, compared to a national score of 4.

Boating, fishing and a community sports center

Wildblue Lake, Vista Lake and Indigo Lake are available for fishing and boating, though Indigo Lake is too small for jet skiing and water skiing. Those who don’t have direct waterfront access from their backyard can use public boat ramps and lease a dock. The community also has a clubhouse and sports center, which has racket sports facilities, a fitness center and a yoga lawn. For swimming, there’s a lap pool and resort-style pool, and two on-site restaurants feature lakeside views. Wildblue fosters a strong sense of community with a packed social calendar, including weekly clubs, competitive tennis and pickleball teams, and seasonal events like trunk-or-treating during Halloween. “We also have an organization called Wildblue Charitable Neighbors,” Bray says. “They’ve raised a lot of money and many residents donate their time to local food banks and a number of other local organizations.”

Close to public schools and Florida Gulf Coast University

Three Oaks Elementary School earns a B-plus from Niche and has several clubs, including cup stacking and art groups. Three Oaks Middle School, which also earns a B-plus, has athletic programs in golf, basketball and soccer, in addition to competitive math and debate teams. At the B-minus-rated South Fort Myers High School, students can enroll in career-oriented pathways, many of which offer industry certifications. Firefighting, agriculture and welding are just some of the options students can choose from. Florida Gulf Coast University, just west of Wildblue, offers more than 60 undergraduate programs. Many Wildblue locals enjoy attending basketball games at Alico Arena, and some have even chosen this community to be close to their kids, who are enrolled.

Within 10 miles of several large shopping malls

The Miromar Outlets Mall is about 5 miles away from the neighborhood, offering large brands like Levi’s and Adidas at a discount. Aside from retailers, there’s also a Publix grocery store and several popular restaurants. Naples Flatbread Kitchen & Bar is a locally owned spot serving sandwiches and pizza with a full cocktail menu and over 50 beers on tap. Hertz Arena, located next to the outlets, serves as the home base for the Everblades hockey team and also hosts concerts by touring artists. Gulf Coast Town Center, about 10 miles away, has more retailers and big-box stores like Costco and Target. Locals can also come here to see a movie at Regal Gulf Coast Theater, or stop for dinner at Hooked Island Grill, a popular seafood restaurant.

Convenient to Interstate 75 and the airport

Locals can easily access Interstate 75 a few miles west. Fort Myers is about 20 miles north, while Naples is about 30 miles south. Lee Health Coconut Point is the nearest hospital, less than 10 miles away. Southwest Florida International Airport is less than 15 miles away.
