Acre-sized lots and country club amenities in Flagstaff
Set 4 miles west of Downtown Flagstaff, suburban, wooded Lakeside Acres is known as the home of the Continental Country Club, and sought-after for its lots of at least an acre. “The main driving factor here is you have in-town acreage,” says Danielle Sedillo, a Flagstaff local and Realtor with Village Land Shoppe. “It’s a small area, but it’s considered one of our luxury communities.” Most of the custom-built homes here belong to the Continental Country Club’s homeowners association, which gives residents access to fitness and recreation centers, as well as community events; shared amenities are monitored with security cameras and by on-site staff. Lakeside Acres' was named for the man-made Lake Elaine, which was once maintained by the Continental Country Club; in 2022, the club announced plans to turn this area into a multi-use preserve with ponds and trails.

Sports and games at the Continental Country Club
“People who live here get access to the country club’s amenities, which are a golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, a gym, a swimming pool and the Bear Paw Recreation Center, which has a bunch of amenities for kids,” says Eileen Taggart, a Realtor with Re/Max Fine Properties and over 17 years of experience. The club's public,18-hole golf course offers private lessons and junior clinics for golfers of all skill levels, while the Bear Paw's offerings include mini-golf and video games.
About 3 miles northwest of Lakeside Acres, the 20-acre Bushmaster Park features lighted basketball and tennis courts, a skate park and horseshoe pits. Nearby, residents can hike and bike dirt-packed trails shaded by pine trees, like the 2-mile Fatman Trail Loop, which leads through an ancient lava flow to a lookout area over Flagstaff.

Custom-built homes with forest views
“This is one of the very few areas in town where the lots are an acre or more,” Sedillo says. “It’s gorgeous and highly desired." Surrounded by wooded areas, the four- and five-bedroom custom homes here were built between the late 20th-century and 2000s; they're generally part of Continental Country Club’s homeowners association, where monthly dues can range from $50 to $500. A four-bedroom custom home with a three-car garage starts at $1 million, while a five-bedroom version with a heated pool costs up to $1.7 million. In the north end of Lakeside Acres, late 20th-century three-bedroom townhouses in the Lakepoint community range from $650,000 to $700,000, many with wooden decks peering out into the Coconino National Forest.
