Suburban splendor eight miles from downtown Fort Wayne
With its large lot sizes, moderately priced homes and sleepy suburban vibe, it’s hard to believe that Brandonwood could be as challenging to get into as a hot new nightclub. However, according to Kammrin Bernard, a Realtor with American Dream Team Real Estate Brokers who sells throughout Fort Wayne, people have a hard time finding a home there. "It's a small subdivision, so there isn't a lot of inventory, but also, I think when people move there, they like it, so they don’t want to leave. It has a great suburban feel but is also walkable to shopping and restaurants. And it’s close to downtown. It’s got everything going for it.”

Roomy ranch and Colonial-style homes throughout the neighborhood
Newcomers to Brandonwood will find mainly ranch-style homes built between the 1950s and 1980s that feature low-pitched roofs and vinyl or aluminum siding. Big front windows let in natural light, and driveways lead to two-car garages. While it's possible to find other home styles, like Cape Cods or Colonials, they are rare. The average home size is about 1,500 square feet, with prices ranging from $145,000 to $180,000. The more expensive homes offer more land or interior renovations like open floor plans and modern appliances. Lot sizes are roomy, with front yards landscaped with flowers and shrubs and backyards big enough for a patio and children’s playset. Tall, mature trees are abundant, often dotting residents’ front and side yards. Sidewalks are scarce, but the streets are wide enough for kids to ride their bikes and neighbors to visit outside.

Golf enthusiasts can play a round or two at the Shoaff Golf Course, which is located at the park and open to all residents. Residents in the mood to walk can choose from three trails of varying distances that loop around the park. For indoor activities, the Jackson R.
