Hillsboro offers suburban living close to city amenities

Hillsboro is a small suburb on the northeastern side of Fort Wayne. It's a quiet, mostly residential setting, where 20th-century homes line neat cul-de-sacs. There's no shortage of outdoor recreation, from the trails that wind through the community to the nearby Shoaff Park and Cherry Hill Golf Course. Students can attend any school within the local district, and commutes are convenient thanks to the area's major roadways. With commercial centers minutes away, you also have shopping and dining close to home.

Homebuyers will find a variety of home styles

Hillsboro offers quiet streets with sidewalks, homes with well-kept front lawns, and backyards shaded by maples and oaks. The neighborhood is filled with ranch-style homes, split-levels and Tudor Revivals, with prices ranging from the high $100,000s to the low $300,000s. You can also find condos and villas, which sell between the high $100,000s and mid-$200,000s. Several homeowner associations serve the neighborhood's various subdivisions, each with its own monthly fees and services.

Recreation includes golf, walking trails and more

In addition to each development’s parks and playgrounds, walking trails connect Hillsboro’s communities. At Shoaff Park, 2 miles away, you can take in views of the St. Joseph River, go for a stroll or hit the 18-hole, par-3 golf course. Cherry Hill Golf Club is another public course within a few miles. "There's a local hockey and baseball team, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra is just a few miles away, and the Johnny Appleseed Festival is one of the most popular events each fall,” says Jane Yoder, a local Realtor with Re/Max Results with 17 years of experience. “We have so much close by.”
