Coventry
Planned communities with newer homes and homeowners associations
Coventry offers many housing options, including single-family homes, townhomes and retirement living. Single-family homes nestle in neatly planned communities like the Coventry subdivision of Coventry East. Sidewalks wind past tidy lawns and neatly kept brick and stone homes that range from modern ranch-styles to two-story Tudors and Colonial Revivals. Most homes were built after 2000 on planned lots and have modern features like open floor plans. Some homes may have backyard pools, but these are the exception. Ranch-styles range in price from $270,000 to $370,000. Tudor Revivals and Colonial Revivals range in price from $330,000 to $440,000. Townhome communities like those found along Milverton Drive feature similar amenities and often have attached rear garages and front lawns. They might have three or four bedrooms, ranging from 1,500 to 2,300 square feet, with listing prices between $280,000 and $320,000. At the Reserve at McAlister, pet-friendly one- and two-bedroom apartments come with affordable rent on a sliding scale for residents age 55-plus.Divided between two school districts north and south
Students living north of Rendon Crowley Road are zoned to Crowley Independent School District, which earns a B-minus. Sidney H. Poynter Elementary School receives a C with Richard Allie Middle School receiving a C-plus. Crowley High School earns a B-minus. South of Rendon Crowley Road, students are zoned to the Burleson Independent School District, which earns an A-minus from Niche. Judy Hajek Elementary is graded an A and Hughes Middle School earns a B-plus. Burleson High School receives a B and offers Advanced Placement and dual-credit courses.Larger park for city gatherings to the west
For outdoor fun, Deer Creek Park offers 12 acres of trails, shady trees and a large playground within walking distance for many residents. Less than 2 miles away west, Bicentennial Park is good for a daytime outing with green space and a disc-golf course. The park also has a winding creek and acts as one of the city’s biggest gathering spots for events. In the summer, the park opens a splash pad.Retail and restaurants to the south along I-35W
McAlister Square has both retail and restaurants within the shopping center. Chain restaurants like Waffle House, McAlister’s Deli and Dutch Bros Coffee share the space with Mooyah Burgers, a franchise restaurant that is locally owned and operated. The area also has an AMC theater. Continuing south, there are clothing stores Kohls, T.J. Maxx and Ross Dress for Less. Off of Interstate 35W is grocery store Albertsons and Sam’s Club. Six miles south is Texas-based grocery store H-E-B plus. Two miles west, the Crowley Market on Main occurs every Sunday from May to October.Interstate as a border leading to Fort Worth
There is no public transportation within the neighborhood. Interstate 35W acts as the eastern border of Coventry. The interstate stretches north and south, almost reaching the Mexican and Canadian borders. Downtown Fort Worth is 15 miles north on Interstate 35W. Arlington Municipal Airport is 21 miles east, and Fort Worth Meacham International Airport is 20 miles north.Small town amenities filled with color
With Downtown Fort Worth just 15 miles north, residents can visit the Fort Worth Zoo. Closer to home, the City of Crowley has seasonal and holiday events. In October, the Pumpkin Paint Night includes pumpkins of course, as well as an inflatable corn ride and other activities at the recreation center, 3 miles west. “We also have Nerf Nights, it’s an open night at the rec center. We supply all the darts, there are obstacle courses,” says Jasmine Rojas, Special Events Coordinator with the City of Crowley. “All kids have to do is bring a gun.” The Kids Color Run takes place in September where colored powder fills the air as children race through Bicentennial Park.
