Because Olde North is on the northern side of central Green Bay, residents are also closer to Bay Beach Amusement Park. Sitting along Lake Michigan, Bay Beach is owned by the city, so entry is always free. Instead, residents must pay for the individual rides, which usually only cost $1 each. Olde North students attend Nicolet Elementary School, which offers a Spanish bilingual program. Both it and Washington Middle School receive C rankings from Niche. East High School offers programs for fine arts and automotive work, where students can fine-tune their skills. Niche grants the school a B-minus ranking and lists it as the 7th most diverse public high school in Wisconsin.
Green Bay's two farmers markets and St. Patrick's Day Parade
With Olde North so close to downtown Green Bay, residents can attend the city’s annual events and festivals, like the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which features Irish dancers and Notre Dame’s marching band. Ushering in the weekend, Fridays on the Fox invites the city to come together for live music and food from local restaurants like Hagemeister Park. During the warmer seasons, Green Bay also hosts two farmers markets, one downtown on Saturday mornings and one across the Fox River in the Broadway District. Hagemeister Park is a brewery and sports bar that hosts live music every Wednesday through Sunday evening. The Creamery is a brunch destination offering eggs benedict flights. Though not downtown, The Attic combines the love of coffee with books, encouraging its customers to browse their selection of used books while they sip their coffee or tea. For groceries, Festival Foods is the closest option, about 2 miles away via University Avenue. Along Main Street, people can find an Aldi and a Walmart Supercenter 3 miles away.
