Just over a junction of major North Carolina highways and tucked against Wendover Avenue is the conveniently located High Point neighborhood East Fork Deep River. High Point has grown immensely in recent years — and East Fork Deep River is proof of this. With the addition of city amenities like restaurants, businesses and 21st century housing, it's an increasingly desired spot. Some attribute this growth to the nearby university. "High Point University has invested a lot into the area," says Landon Stone, a Real Estate Agent and Team Leader at EXP Realty. "There's been a lot of new businesses and additional developments in the area. Newer homes have been coming up, encouraging more and more people to live in the area." The East Fork Deep River, which gives the area its name, cuts through the middle of the neighborhood, splitting it in two. West of the river is the commercial side, full of restaurants, shops and other businesses. East of the river is residential.

Getting around the High Point area
Highway 68 borders the neighborhood's western edge, providing convenient commutes to surrounding areas. There isn't much in the way of public transportation in the neighborhood, though there is one bus stop at the intersection of Meetingway and Mendenhall Oaks Parkway.

On the eastern half of the neighborhood sits an array of 21st-century housing. Most houses in the area are modern townhouses adorned with garages and small, manicured lawns. Subdivisions full of said townhomes dot the area, including the Piedmont Trace and Tarrant Trace subdivisions. A few detached housing options can also be found in the area. The River Ridge subdivision is full of two-story homes that occupy spacious quarter-acre plots of land. Tucked into the quieter corners of the area are a few single-story homes that are distant from neighbors and sit on plots of land over an acre in size. For a day of fun outdoors, many head south across Wendover over to Gibson Park. The 200-acre park is a favorite for locals across High Point, welcoming all for community gatherings and recreational sports. The park features baseball and soccer fields for sporting fun. The park also features an entrance to the Bicentennial Greenway. The Bicentennial Greenway is a 14-mile paved path that meanders through High Point. While a popular access point is in Gibson Park, the path runs through the heart of East Fork Deep River, making for quick access for area residents. On a rainy day, many head east across Piedmont Parkway to Velocity 360 Fun Zone. The 22,000-square-foot facility is entirely indoors and is the perfect spot to take the family. It features a wall-to-wall trampoline area and a three-story playground.
