Aliana in Fort Bend County is filled with amenities

Aliana is a master-planned neighborhood in Fort Bend County that offers manicured, suburban living across its 13 subdivisions. Though popular for its access to A-rated schools within Fort Bend Independent School District, it also offers a long list of amenities, including pools, fitness centers, playgrounds and walking trails. Major retailers like H-E-B, Target and Costco are just a few miles away.

Neighborhood kids attend top-rated schools in top-rated Fort Bend ISD

Fort Bend Independent School District serves the area and primarily assigns students to schools based on zoned attendance boundaries, determined by their home addresses. However, it does offer magnet-style “Academies” and specialized programs (like STEM, Global Studies, Early College, and P TECH) through a competitive application process, with placement dependent on limited seats and selection criteria. The two elementary schools that serve the neighborhood, Carolyn and Vernon Madden Elementary School and Malala Yousafzai Elementary, rank in the top 5% of all elementary schools in Texas for combined math and reading proficiency.

Amenities include tennis, pools, playgrounds and community events

Aliana is home to The Westmoor Club and The Club at Aliana, clubs that feature tennis courts, 24-hour fitness centers and pools. The neighborhood has a walking trail that covers a lot of the neighborhood and is a big plus for many residents. “I’ve biked about 10 miles on it. It’s beautiful. You see people out walking their dogs and walking in the evenings,” says Jamie Kastens, a real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty Southwest who sells extensively in Aliana. There are also multiple parks and playgrounds. The Westmoor Club’s playground is a favorite among kids for its jungle gym and miniature zipline. Shadow Hawk Golf Club is a private course about 2 miles away and gives golfers easy access to the green, along with traditional country club amenities like a health and wellness center, pool access and tennis courts. A third amenities center is planned for construction in 2026, which will include pickleball courts, a playground and a half basketball court.

Aliana has a Lifestyle Director who plans numerous community events throughout the year. “There’s a Christmas Party and a Spring event. They do small events for adults, and they also do events for kids like pool parties,” Kastens says.

Aliana Shopping Center and The Grand at Aliana are on the west side and feature popular retailers like:

  • H-E-B
  • Target
  • Costco
  • Michaels
  • Five Below
The shopping centers also offer a mix of restaurants, like Chili’s, Outback Steakhouse and smaller franchises serving Mexican and Asian cuisines. More dining options are available along the major thoroughfares that line the neighborhood, including locally owned Cup N' Char Buffalo Pizza Café, loved for its authentic western New York style pizza, wings and large portions.

Subdivisions are walkable, but residents get around by car

Sidewalks are all over Aliana, making it easy for residents to walk their dogs and take evening bike rides. Errands, however, will often require a car. Houston is around 30 miles away and locals can take Westpark Tollway and Southwest Freeway to get there. Kastens says one of the best things about the neighborhood is its location. “It’s so centrally located. You have all the major routes there to get you where you need to go,” she says.

Some things to consider when living in Aliana

The neighborhood is about 3 miles from the Sprint Fort Bend County landfill, so things can get a little smelly on windy days for the people who live on the northeast side. The Beauford H. Jester prison complex’s medium-security (Jester III) and psychiatric (Jester IV) units are across Grand Parkway on the neighborhood’s southwest side, around 5 miles away. Two quarries are also nearby: Richmond Materials, about 9 miles away, and Alleyton Resource Company, about 11 miles away. Faint dust or silica particles may occasionally drift toward the neighborhood, especially on dry, windy days.
