Namesake country club is the highlight of Louisville's Hurstbourne

Hurstbourne is a home-rule city and sought-after suburban community about 12 miles east of downtown Louisville. Buyers are attracted to its upscale setting, which is anchored by the prestigious Hurstbourne Country Club and the elegant mix of homes surrounding it. Another major draw is easy access to shopping and dining, including community restaurants and the neighboring Oxmoor Center. Nearby interstates that provide convenient commutes throughout the city add to the convenience.

Well-maintained traditional homes on quiet streets

The community is known for a diverse collection of homes in an attractive setting. Traditional ranch-style homes, split-levels, Colonial Revivals and Tudor Revivals are prominent along quiet streets shaded by mature trees. Many of the homes have golf course views, and several streets end in cul de sacs, providing an additional level of privacy. Some of the largest and most expensive homes sit on an acre or more and include exclusive amenities such privacy gates and pools. Prices typically range from the $400,000s to more than $1.5 million. “Even though there's no HOA, all the homes are really well-maintained; it just comes down to pride in ownership,” says Craig Barker, a Louisville native who works for simpler.realestate. He adds that the lots are “large and pleasing to the eye.”
Condos and townhouses range from the low $200,000s to the mid-$400,000s.

Historic clubhouse and 27 holes of golf at Hurstbourne Country Club

The defining feature of Hurstbourne Country Club is its stunning clubhouse, a former mansion designed in the Gothic Revival style. “It has really high-end renovations on the inside, while also still keeping that original character on the outside, so it's a really nice space,” says Barrett Goff, founder and principal broker of Allodium Real Estate. The club’s 18-hole golf course is regularly rated as one of the best in the state by Golf Digest, and there is an additional 9-hole executive course. Other resort-style amenities include a pool, courts for tennis and pickleball and fitness facilities.
Nearby E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park spans more than 500 acres. Visitors can explore the Goose Creek Nature Trail or get exercise on a one-mile fitness loop. Beyond hiking, the park includes one of Louisville's largest public swimming pools, an archery range, tennis courts and a dog park.
