Nostalgic appeal on the northeast end of Jackson
Kiwanis Park's Northeast Elementary School has been a neighborhood fixture since 1969. In recent years, the school has undergone changes: adding a STEAM-focused curriculum, updating facilities and merging with Bennett Elementary in 2019. Like Northeast, the neighborhood has its fair share of history, from its homes dating back to the early and mid-1900s to its eponymous park and mainstay restaurants. Change is also afoot in the neighborhood as renovations and updates to homes are common and community organizations, such as the namesake Kiwanis Club, which provides upkeep and sponsors neighborhood events.
