Students attend Duval County Public Schools, rated the fourth-best school district in the Jacksonville area. They can start at North Shore Elementary or Sallye B. Mathis Elementary. Both schools earn an overall C rating on Niche. Students can then attend Matthew Gilbert Middle or Jean Ribault Middle, earning a C-minus. Jean Ribault High School earns a C rating and offers students an Early College program where students can earn credits toward their associate degree.

There are two parks in Lake Forest, Marion Park and Concord Park. Each parks spans about 2 acres. Marion Pak offers tennis courts, a covered picnic area and a playground with water features. The public ramp offers trailer parking, picnic shelters and boat docks that accommodate vessels up to 22 feet in length.
