No memberships needed to golf in Indian Creek
Indian Creek offers golf course homes and a central location for recreation without the requirement of a country club membership. At the center of the neighborhood is the semi-private Golf Club of Jupiter, its amenities within walking distance of every home. Take the golf away, and the community is still solid, with well-built houses, a beautiful park and excellent local schools. “It’s small enough that it still has this small-town feel,” says Jupiter resident Philip DeCarlo, a Realtor with Posh Properties. “There are a couple of 55-and-older subdivisions, too, but it’s still very family-oriented. My wife spends a lot of time out there at Indian Creek Park with the grandkids. There’s a lot for them to do in that little space.”
Indian Creek Park and The Golf Club of Jupiter
Indian Creek Park is a scenic pocket of natural beauty. Live oaks and palm trees encircle the creek, which is a good spot for local kayakers and a healthy habitat for various Floridian wildlife species, such as box turtles, ibises and otters. The expansive Eco-Island playground was designed with the environment in mind, featuring play structures made from recycled aluminum and plastic. Across the street from the park, The Golf Club of Jupiter’s 18-hole course invites novice and seasoned golfers alike. “It’s easy to get a tee time, but obviously, during high season, you’ll have more trouble,” DeCarlo says. Winter is the “high season” when snowbird residents come down to Jupiter to soak up the subtropical weather.

Condos, villas and houses
Across Indian Creek’s subdivisions, developed in the 1980s and 1990s, there are several types of two- and three-bedroom properties. Condos and single-story townhouses, or villas, list between $300,000 and $400,000. Ranch-style and contemporary homes start in the mid $400,000s and cap around $730,000. Houses with golf course views fall on the higher end of that range. Each subdivision is managed by its own unique homeowners association and requires varying degrees of maintenance. For example, Bent Arrow is a subdivision of villas with a low monthly HOA fee. The homeowner is responsible for exterior and interior maintenance. “They’re treated like houses even though they’re technically condos,” DeCarlo says. This differs from more traditional condo subdivisions like Wingfoot, a 55-plus community where residents’ only concern is interior maintenance. Wingfoot’s higher HOA fee also goes toward shared amenities, including a clubhouse and pool.

The Creek Pub and Grill
While DeCarlo enjoys golfing at Indian Creek, he raves about the dining. “The restaurant there? Oh my god, the food is amazing.” The Creek Pub and Grill faces the driving range, so customers can watch golfers practice their swings, sending balls into the lake to be collected later. Although the restaurant's menu consists of classic pub fare, DeCarlo assures it is done right. “My only recommendation would be don’t go there on Sunday right after church because St. Peter Catholic Church is down the road. You’ll face a long wait. It felt like the entire congregation was there.” For groceries, Publix and Aldi are only 2 miles away on Indiantown Road. Big-box stores like Walmart and The Home Depot are also on this main thoroughfare.

Central Boulevard to anywhere
Aptly named, Central Boulevard runs through the middle of Indian Creek and is also the main route for getting in and out of the neighborhood. It connects with Indiantown Road due north, and from there, it’s a half-mile to Interstate 95’s ramp and another half-mile to Florida’s Turnpike. Jupiter’s beaches are less than a 10-mile drive away. The nearest hospital is Jupiter Medical Center, less than 5 miles away. Palm Beach International Airport is 20 miles south via I-95.
