"It's a really desirable area, and people who can't afford Brookside are going to Waldo. We're putting a house on the market this week in Waldo for $575,000, which is high, but it'll probably sell this weekend because it's Brookside agecent." Waldo also offers options for those looking to rent with apartment complexes scattered around the area.Wornall Road is the place to shop and dine
Locals often shop for groceries at Aldi and its neighboring shops on Wornall Road, though State Line Center's Hy-Vee is also comes in handy. McLain's Bakery, open since 1945, is the place to go for a sweet treat, as is the revered Betty Rae's. "Betty Rae's Ice Cream has a line out the door every time you drive by," Miller says. "Betty Rae's is cool. Really eclectic different flavors that they have. It's a big deal."
