Fishing at Poerio Park and hunting for sea glass in Lake Michigan

The community features wide, repaved streets with sidewalks and streetlights. They typically have one-car driveways, and the median lot size is less than a quarter acre. On average, houses in Poerio spend 32 days on the market, shorter than the national average, and range in price from $230,000 to $340,000.Commuting into Chicago from Kenosha Station

The Sesquicentennial Bandshell at Pennoyer Park puts on free concerts from July through August as a part of its Tuesdays at the Shell concert series. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, while drinks and snacks are available at the venue. Once winter rolls around, the city chooses a Saturday for the Snow Daze Festival. Those making the 4-mile trip south to Downtown Kenosha will find ornate ice sculptures spread about the streets and in front of local shops and restaurants. The occasion makes a day out of shopping locally, with the hopes of supporting the city’s independent businesses.
