A blend of single-family homes and townhouses

Living in Pilette offers residents newly constructed contemporary homes as well as some dating back to the 1970s. The area’s first post office was opened in 1901, but many of the original historic buildings haven’t survived to the present day. Instead, the neighborhood has evolved into several subdivisions, some gated, with most still having lots available. In addition to townhouses, you’ll see Mediterraneans, Acadians, farmhouses and ranch-style residences. Prices range from $160,000 for a one-bedroom and bath townhouse to $1.8 million for a newly built Mediterranean home in a gated community.

Trampoline park headlines a roster of unique entertainment venues

One of Pilette’s more unusual features is the amount of entertainment venues in the neighborhood. You can release tension in the Rage Room, play more than 300 games at Planet VR or race with friends at the Kart Ranch. There’s even water-based fun at the Louisiana Swamp Base. But one of the most unique spots is Surge Entertainment by Drew Brees. The New Orleans Saints Quarterback became interested in the trampoline park concept after having a birthday party for one of his children at one. He met with Surge founder, Darren Balsomo, and the rest is history. The complex isn't just for jumping either. Adults, children and everyone in between can enjoy 13 lanes of bowling, a golf simulator, an arcade and an interactive video game experience with moving seats. Toddlers have their own soft play area, and everyone can find a snack at the Prime Bistreaux.

Poor Boy's Riverside Inn has served Cajun classics for over a century

Of course, you couldn't mention a Southern city without talking about the food there. Pilette is home to an iconic Cajun seafood restaurant called Poor Boy's Riverside Inn. Opened nearly 100 years ago as a snowball wagon, the business expanded into hot sandwiches and, eventually, seafood and steaks. The recipes have been handed down through the Hurst family through four generations and are still proudly used today. In addition to daily lunch specials and delectable desserts, the restaurant has vegetarian, low carb and gluten-free options to suit every dietary need.
