With a home in Meadow Brook, “Fore!” might just become part of residents’ vocab. Several properties in this western Lawton neighborhood back up to the golf course at Lawton Country Club, providing idyllic views. It’s one of the signature features of this area, one that’s also known for the condition of its inventory. Houses here have some age, but many have been carefully maintained through the years. "It has such a cool mix of simple starter homes and large, custom-built estates," says Heaven Speirs, a local Realtor with Park Jones Realty and a Lawton native. "Many properties here are one- or two-owner homes, even though they were built in the '60s. You can see the pride of ownership on every street."

Midcentury houses for varying tastes
The homes here were built in the 1960s and 1970s, and many of them are brick ranch-style options But they vary in layout and finish, adding character to the area. There are some outliers around as well, including Cape Cods and colonial-style homes. "There's just a good feel about it that you don't find in the more modern, cookie-cutter neighborhoods," Speirs says. These properties have a history of being mostly owner-occupied, and some have been updated over time. Meadow Brook’s homes were built closely together, but all properties come with yards, on lots of anywhere between .20 to .70 acres. Prices range anywhere from $75,000 for a house that needs work to $265,000 for a remodeled option.
