Life at Compass Pointe is all about the amenities. “A lot of places make you join the club to get access to any of the amenities, but we don't do that. You get a really fabulous amenity center by being an owner,” Wood says. Residents have access to tennis and pickleball courts, indoor and outdoor pools, a lazy river and a wellness center with group fitness classes. Walking and biking trails wind through the neighborhood, and Cardinal Lake offers a canoe and kayak launch for getting out on the water. There's also a dog park and the Grand Lanai clubhouse, which is a hub for community events. “The amenities are second to none, but really the best thing about this place is the people,” Wood says.
Golf is another highlight. Compass Pointe Golf Club features an 18-hole championship course, a clubhouse, a fitness center and an outdoor pool with a cabana bar. On-site dining is also available. Membership at the golf club is separate from homeownership, but even non-golfers might find themselves using a golf cart to get around. “It's a golf cart-friendly community,” Wood says. “We have a golf course, but the golf cart living, that doesn't have anything to do with golf. It's just transportation around the community. It's the resort lifestyle. It's the slowing down of everything.”

While the amenities attract many buyers, residents often say the social atmosphere is what makes Compass Pointe feel like home. It looks great online, and when you get here, it looks even better.”
