These lot sizes are particularly appealing to horse owners, along with the nearby trails and equestrian centers. Students of Lenox Township are served by Richmond, New Haven and Anchor Bay public schools, all of which earn overall Niche grades of B-minus or higher. Francois Maconce Elementary School earns a B-plus overall grade from Niche and has a student-to-teacher ratio of 15-1. Richmond Middle School gives its learners unique elective courses to consider, including animation studio, multimedia development and music appreciation. Wetzel State Recreation Area is home to four miles of trails ideal for hiking and cross-country skiing, and anglers can cast a line from one of the park’s many ponds. Horseback riders can find accessible trails a short drive west at Wolcott Mill Metro Park, with 10 miles of trails. Horse-lovers can also be found at Arcadia Equestrian Center to take advantage of the boarding services and riding arenas. Local sports enthusiasts can use the facilities at Lenox Township Park, including the soccer fields, baseball diamond, tennis courts and basketball court. After burning off some energy, you can enjoy a packed lunch under one of the covered picnic pavilions. You’ll find three golf facilities throughout the community, with 72 holes across town. In the warmer months, at Oak Ridge Golf Club, you can enjoy a refreshing drink on the patio while listening to live music.
Besides a wide catalog of books, the Jean Waterloo Lenox Township Library has a full calendar of programming. “While we are a small library, we host lots of events for community members of all ages to get involved in,” says Beth Bogaert, the library director. “We host book clubs for kids and adults and seasonal events like our haunted library, where we transform the floor into a haunted house each Halloween season. We also have educational programs and speaker presentations around topics like public speaking and technology.”
