What draws buyers to Meadows-Loudon

Meadows-Loudon sits just northeast of Downtown Lexington, close enough to reach the city center and the North Limestone arts district in a matter of minutes, but far enough away to feel calm and residential. The neighborhood's older Cape Cod homes appeal to buyers looking for a yard and some space without the steep price tags common in other nearby parts of the city. Castlewood Park is another draw for the area, featuring an aquatic center and Loudon House, home to the Lexington Art League. New Circle Road borders the neighborhood, connecting you to the rest of Lexington.

Most homes date to around 1950, and Cape Cod-style houses are common throughout, typically with two bedrooms on the main floor and additional bedrooms on the upper level. Ranch-style homes are also available. Many properties have been updated over the years with renovated kitchens, refinished hardwood floors and modern systems. The median home sale price is in the lower $200,000s, below Lexington’s overall median and that of Castlewood and North Limestone, but above that of William Wells Brown. “It’s a more affordable place to buy. You can get a yard, a decent-sized yard, with a two- or three-bedroom house under $200,000 most of the time,” says Ryan Camenisch, a Realtor with The Brokerage. Fixer-uppers can range from just under $100,000 to the mid-$100,000s, while move-in ready homes can range from the upper $100,000s to the lower $300,000s.
